Kiddos Had a Free Prayer Booth With a Line Out to Road During Festival With 100,000 People in Town

Our girls are always asking strangers if they could pray for them or asking if they know that Jesus loves them. We decided to get some shirts made which makes asking those questions even easier. In this video you can see them putting the shirts to work! You will only see a small fraction of the people coming up for prayer. We were focused more on doing it than videoing it. Still learning the technical part of vlogging and time-lapse. I tell you though, it is so amazing to stand next to your 8 year old as she prays for a stranger and they weep as God ministers to them.

The Beginning of Recording Stories For the Prayer House Story

So much was happening so quickly in 2012 that I had to begin to record it all. I had been fighting an autoimmune disease since 2011 and had been in and out of hospitals, doctors’ offices and tests tests tests. I had had so many MRI’s that I bled contrast.

It’s interesting to hear me even mention my memory loss back then. It took us three months until Christmas had past for us to tell the church about my battle with an auto-immune disorder (later to be called MS). And so, this was the beginning of the part of my life where I got “ok” with it. I could have never known healing was coming. (All of this will be shared in more detail in my upcoming book, “The Warrior’s Battle.”)

And yet at the same time as my health was in question and as I still was bi-vocational working for a finance firm in IT under huge duress and church planting, putting in as much as 80 hours per week, the moving of GOD pushed Lori and I through it until we had to plant a prayer house and I wanted to man it for the first hours of the morning before work. CRAZY!

This is so anti everything you are supposed to do when to dealing with MS. And yet, this is where it started…

Tapestry’s Launch Story at the Ramada Inn in Rockville

I recorded this myself just moments after praying for a lady on the side of the road who twisted her leg (breaks her leg) in a deep hole and in a crowd of people before paramedics arrive, she is healed completely. The kicker was that I just found out that I had been healed from MS a few days before. This was recorded in August 2012.

Happy Veterans Day from FWJ

At FWJ, the Hedrick 5 celebrate our veterans, our current military and our public servants including police, firemen and anyone that “keeps us safe.” Every time we see someone in uniform, we walk up and say, “thank you for keeping us safe.” That is a normal daily life thing for us.

Now, the truth is that veterans often don’t have anything to show that they have served us and kept us safe. Often it may only be a hat, a sticker on a car or possibly a jacket. That being the case, Veterans’ Day is even more special to us. We want to say to all of those out there that have served to keep us safe, giving us the opportunity to enjoy the Freedoms we do today, we are thankful for you.

So, blessings on you. Anna and Lydia want to say, “Happy Veterans’ Day.”

We made cookies for the trash men

The girls made #cookies for the #trashmen! Showing Jesus’ love in a practical way! And showing #thankfulness #thankful for our trashmen

And a cool thing to know that the video doesn’t share…we actually had to wait a little longer than normal for them to make it to our house. It was a drizzly day and the part of the truck in the back kept freezing up and wouldn’t crunch all the trash and they had to stop every few houses to fix it. They were very very appreciative of our smiles, waves and cookies! We picked the best day to do it and didn’t even know it! Go Jesus!

Philippians 4:13

I can do all things through Christ, because he is the one who gives me strength.

In the midst of his trials Paul learned reliance, he learned contentment. He learned life with God isn’t the absence of trials, but an opportunity to meet Christ in the midst of them. He didn’t bend beneath the weight of the pressure, he endured and rose to the top. Don’t succumb to the pressure, like Paul allow yourself to be molded by the maker. He’s all about creating masterpieces.

Romans 5:3-5

Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

Even in our unbelief, He still believes in us.

I’m reminded of Thomas who upon seeing Jesus after His resurrection doubted who He was. Jesus in His love revealed Himself by extending His nail scarred hands. He’s waiting to reveal Himself still today. He’s still the peruser of hearts and He’s not afraid of our doubts and fears.Jesus knows your heart and the answer to the hard questions you may have so why not ask Him today. He longs to be known even by those who deny Him indefinitely. His love for His children never changes.

After years of church planting we have found this time of the year families are very receptive. Our girls made 90 candy bags stuffed with candy and decorated with beautiful pumpkin art and sealed with a message, sharing with all who step on our porch that Jesus loves them. How true!

I can’t count the number of times I’ve made lists and carefully outlined every detail of an outing including going the extra mile to lay out clothes and pack the diaper bag in advance only to arrive late to my destination despite my many efforts.

Perhaps you’ve been there, the alarm clock doesn’t go off, one of the kids melts down, or my favorite, you leave the house on time only to get in the car and realize your sitting on E.

Before kids the same rang true, lost keys, left the phone at home, or a dog that would rather sniff grass and walk in circles than do her business. The list goes on.

If you’re anything like me all these little inconveniences tend to set a negative tone for the day, build up anxiety, and causes you to rush.

I recently saw a necklace through Proverbs31 ministries and it said, unrush me. What a beautiful reminder.

So the next time you feel rushed and become distracted by life’s circumstances why not pray those two little words, unrush me.

If we stop trying to control our agenda and simply submit our day to Him from the beginning we might just be surprised at the opportunities to be used by Him in the midst of all these distractions. After all, He knew these things were going to happen anyway.
